WoW Forever raid buffs: who brings what after build 70425
Battle Shout, Trueshot Aura, four shaman totems and both druid auras now reach the whole raid in WoW Forever. Which class brings which raid buff, and what changed.
You no longer need a warrior or a shaman in every group. Since beta build 1.60.1.70425, Battle Shout, Trueshot Aura, Windfury, Flametongue, Grace of Air and Strength of Earth Totem, Leader of the Pack and Moonkin Aura all reach party and raid members, not just the caster's group of five[1]. One of each now covers everyone in range.
The raid comp planner already counts them as raid buffs. It follows the game's spellbook, so it stays current when this post doesn't.
- buffs that reach the whole raid, up from 16
- 24
- buffs that still reach only one group, down from 17
- 11
- raid lines added by build 70425
- 8

The buffs that now reach the whole raid
Each of these tooltips now says "party or raid members" where it used to say "party members". The range stays the same: 20 yards for Battle Shout, 30 for the totems and 45 for Trueshot Aura. So a raid that spreads out can still leave someone without them.

The totem rules changed too. Grace of Air Totem used to rule out Windfury and Flametongue Totem. It doesn't anymore. Windfury and Flametongue still rule each other out, so a player only benefits from one of the two[1]. For a melee-heavy raid that means Windfury, Grace of Air and Strength of Earth all at once.
Leader of the Pack and Moonkin Aura stack now
Before this build, both auras gave the same 3% critical strike chance to the druid's party, and the tooltips said they were exclusive. Now each covers a different kind of critical strike, for the whole raid:
- Leader of the Pack (Feral, in cat or bear form): 3% melee and ranged critical strike chance.
- Moonkin Aura (Balance, in Moonkin Form): 3% spell critical strike chance.
They no longer overlap, so a raid with a Feral and a Balance druid gets both. The planner now lists them as two lines.

Who brings which raid buff
- Warriors: Battle Shout.
- Hunters: Trueshot Aura (Marksmanship), and Nature Resistance through Aspect of the Wild.
- Shamans: Windfury or Flametongue Totem, Grace of Air Totem, Strength of Earth Totem, and the Fire, Frost and Nature Resistance Totems.
- Druids: Mark of the Wild, Innervate, Leader of the Pack (Feral) and Moonkin Aura (Balance).
- Paladins: Blessings of Kings, Might, Wisdom and Light, Salvation, and the Fire, Frost and Shadow Resistance Auras.
- Priests: Power Word: Fortitude, Divine Spirit and Shadow Protection.
- Mages: Arcane Intellect.
- Warlocks: Healthstones.
Rogues bring no buffs. Their part is Expose Armor on the boss.
Salvation also changed in this build. Blessing of Salvation is now Salvation, and Greater Blessing of Salvation is Mass Salvation. They are no longer Blessings, so they don't take the place of Might or Kings[1]. A new spell, Revoke, takes Salvation off a tank who shouldn't have it.

What still reaches only your group
Group placement still matters for these 11:
- Paladin auras: Devotion, Retribution and Concentration Aura.
- Shaman totems: Mana Spring, Mana Tide (Restoration), Stoneskin and Windwall.
- Warlocks: Blood Pact from the imp.
- Shadow priests: Vampiric Embrace, and Dark Inspiration, a new talent in this build that raises the party's Spirit by 15% for 10 seconds after Mind Blast or a full Mind Flay.
- Hunters: Furious Howl from a wolf.
So the old reasons to build groups around a shaman are mostly about mana now. Put your healers with the Mana Spring and Mana Tide shaman, and your tank with a Devotion Aura paladin.
What we don't know yet
- Range in a real raid. The tooltips keep their ranges, and we haven't seen a full raid test it on the beta yet. Battle Shout's 20 yards is the one most likely to miss people.
- Trueshot Aura's ranks. The client gives rank 5 the same 50 ranged attack power as rank 3, less than rank 4's 75. That looks like a slip in the beta data. The planner shows the client's number until Blizzard fixes it.
- Windfury and Flametongue from two shamans. Blizzard's notes say the two "retain their exclusivity" but not whether two shamans can drop one each for different players. The planner lists them as two lines until the beta shows how it works.
The planner and the class spellbooks change with each beta build. This post describes build 1.60.1.70425.
