Search the whole Codex, from any page
Search dungeons, raids, items, quests and spells from any page and land right on the result, plus every quest for both factions with a map pin on its giver.
You can now search the whole Codex from wherever you are on it. Type a few letters into the big box on the front page, or open the same search from the top bar on any other page, and it finds dungeons, raids, items, quests and spells as you type. Picking a quest or a spell takes you straight to its row. This release also puts every quest for both factions on one list and gives each quest giver a map pin you can paste into chat.
One search for dungeons, raids, items, quests and spells
The big search box sits on the front page. Everywhere else, the search button in the top bar opens the same search over the page you are on, and you can press / or Ctrl+K (⌘K on a Mac) instead. Type "thunderfury" and Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Windseeker comes up, as in the picture at the top. Type "defias" on the Deadmines page and you get the Defias items and The Defias Brotherhood quest together, grouped by kind.

Results that land on the right row
A result takes you straight to the thing you picked. A quest opens its dungeon's Quests tab at that quest, and a spell opens its class spellbook at that spell, each marked with a gold outline so your eye finds it. Pick The Defias Brotherhood and you land on the Deadmines' Quests tab with that quest outlined in gold. Items opened under the boss that drops them; since 30 September every item has a page of its own, and search opens that instead.
The search also remembers the last five things you opened, so you can jump back to any of them with one click.
Every quest, for both factions
The Quests tab now shows every quest for both factions at once. A quest only one side can do carries an Alliance or Horde crest, so in Blackfathom Deeps you see Knowledge in the Deeps with its Alliance crest in the same list as Blackfathom Villainy with its Horde one. The faction switch above the list is gone.
Quests also look the way they do in the game: the names are in quest yellow, with the yellow "!" in front. Each quest's Wowhead link now opens the Forever version of that quest.
A map pin on every quest giver
Every quest giver now has the same map pin and /way buttons as dungeon entrances. Copy one and paste it into chat to mark where to pick the quest up. Knowledge in the Deeps, for example, starts with Gerrig Bonegrip in Ironforge at 50.8, 5.6.

Tooltips in the game's colours, and a new logo
Item tooltips now use the game's colours, with bonus stats in green. The Codex has a new logo, and a new card shows up when you share a link in Discord or elsewhere.
On the front page the countdown moved into a card of its own, with a few words on why I built the Codex right under it. Both have moved again since: the countdown is a bar across the top of every page, and the story behind the Codex is at the foot of the front page.
Updates got a page of their own, linked in the footer, and the Updates button only appeared when there was something you had not read yet. Updates now live on this blog.
Also fixed
- On phones the top bar ran off the edge of the screen. It now fits, with Journey (now called Companion) shown as its compass icon.
- A menu in the top bar stayed open when you moved on to the search or Journey button. It now closes.
