The Classes page on the Codex, with all nine classes, their specs and new talents

Classes, and a blue tracker

A Classes menu with a Changes in Forever page and a Races page for every class, links to any talent or spell, and a tracker for Blizzard's Forever posts.

Every class now has its own corner of the Codex. A new Classes menu in the top bar lists all nine, and from there you can open a page that shows everything Forever added or reworked for your class since Classic, the races that can play it, its talent calculator and its spellbook. The same release added a blue tracker, which gathers every post Blizzard staff make about Forever on the forums into one list.

A Classes menu in the top bar

Open Classes in the top bar and the nine classes are listed. Point at one and its pages appear beside it, so you can jump straight to the one you want. The talent calculator and the spellbook now have pages of their own for each class, next to its Changes and Races pages. The calculator is still in Tools too.

What Forever changed, class by class

Every class has a Changes in Forever page. It lists every talent and spell Forever added or reworked since Classic, and the races that can now play the class.

Talent changes are laid out tree by tree, and each one shows what changed at a glance. Hover or tap any change to read what it says in Forever beside what it said in Classic. On the Priest page, Meditation is tagged "Moved in its row" and "5% → 17%". Its tooltip shows why: in Forever it lets 17% of your mana regeneration continue while casting, and in Classic it was 5%.

Races and their racials

Every class has a Races page with each race that can play it, Alliance and Horde side by side, with their active and passive racials.

Priests get something extra: each Priest race has two Priest spells of its own. A Human priest, for example, learns Divine Grace and Feedback. You will find them on the Priest Races page, and the spellbook marks which race learns each one.

Send someone a talent or a spell

Every talent and spell row can copy a link to itself. Send it to someone and it opens the page with that row picked out and its full text showing.

A blue tracker for Forever

The blue tracker collects every post Blizzard staff make about Forever on the NA and EU forums, newest first, and checks for new ones every five minutes. A switch at the top shows both forums, or only NA or only EU. The five latest posts were on the front page at first; they left it on 28 September, and the tracker itself is now linked in the footer.

Tooltips, menus and other changes

Spell and talent tooltips now open above the row when there is no room below, so they no longer run off the bottom of the screen. Press Escape to close one. In the top bar, moving from one menu to the next now slides across instead of closing and opening again.

Journey is now called Companion. The work in progress notice at the bottom of every page is gone, and the "Something wrong/missing?" button is still there if you spot a problem.

The Updates button is gone as well. Updates were linked in the footer on a page that used the full width; they have since moved to this blog. The privacy page now lists exactly what your browser keeps.

Also fixed

  • Old links to a spell in the talent calculator still work, and now open that class's spellbook.
